Pepperoni Pizza Rolls

Updated: Jul 12

Homemade pepperoni pizza dough with tomato sauce

Pepperoni pizza rolls are delicious, quick, and easy to make and can be customized to suit your preference. They are chewy on the inside, crispy on the bottom, and loaded with cheese and pepperoni. Perfect for gamedays, gatherings, or as an after-school snack and they are always a crowd pleaser.

Making your own pizza dough can be time-consuming, so instead, you can use pre-made pizza dough to save time and effort. However, if you prefer to make your own dough, feel free to use your desired pizza dough recipe.

For extra flavor, serve with dipping sauces like marinara sauce, garlic butter, or ranch. You can also pair them with fresh veggies or crispy salad. Pepperoni pizza rolls are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.

Preparation and Cooking Time

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Servings: 26

Ingredients

1 cup pepperoni

2 pounds of pizza dough

3 cups of mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 cup homemade pizza sauce, extra for dipping

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Use parchment paper to line a baking sheet, and set aside.

Step 2

Drizzle flour onto a flat surface, then use a rolling pin to roll the pizza dough into a rectangle. Add more flour, if required, to prevent the pizza dough from sticking to the surface. Try not to roll it too thin if not the dough will tear when you try to roll it.

Step 3

Dollop and spread the tomato sauce on top of the dough with a spoon. Then drizzle the mozzarella cheese over the tomato sauce.

Step 4

Place the pepperoni over the cheese. Then gently roll the dough into a pinwheel and seal with a little more tomato sauce.

Step 5

Slice into ½-inch pinwheels, and place them on the lined baking sheet, leaving 1-2 inch space between the pinwheels.

Step 6

Bake until the surface is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes, then serve with extra tomato sauce. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

1. I used homemade pizza sauce for this recipe but you can also use jarred pizza sauce.

2. To store, allow the rolls to cool completely before you place them in an airtight container. Keep them in the fridge for about 3 days and warm them in the oven before serving.
