Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 2
Ingredients
4 ounces elbow macaroni
1 cup milk
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
⅛ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ cup butter
Directions
Step 1
Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook stirring from time to time for about 7-8 minutes or until cooked through but firm.
Step 2
Drain and sprinkle with a little bit of olive oil to prevent it from sticking. In a saucepan, melt butter on medium heat, then add flour, ground black pepper, and salt. Stir for about 4-5 minutes or until smooth.
Step 3
Gently pour in the milk, while stirring frequently. Continue to cook and stir for about 5 minutes or until the mixture is bubbling and smooth. (Ensure that the milk doesn't burn)
Step 4
Add the cheese and stir for about 2 minutes or until melted. Add the macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until coated.
Recipe Notes
1. You can add extra seasonings and cheese as desired.
2. Use high-quality aged cheddar cheese for this recipe to achieve a smoother texture and stronger taste.
3. Make sure you watch the milk closely as it boils because milk boils fast and burns easily.
